1991 - started my own business with my brother importing ladies fashion garments and accessories into Europe from china
1994 - branched out from the fashion into more technical outerwear and gloves
1999 - sold business to a manufacturer of tech outerwear, gloves and other accessories
2000 to 2008 - European then global sales director, then board director responsible for sales, merchandising and product R&D
- 17 experience years in garment production, from ladies fashion to technical outerwear including ski, motorcycle and outdoor pursuits
- similar span of experience in product development: i have designed and developed accessory ranges for Nike, Marks and Spencer, Intersport international, Puma and Reebok; designed and developed a whole ski range for Marks and Spencer; helped design fitness, ski and motorcycle gloves for Reusch, Nike, Burton, Swix, Zanier, Tchibo amongst others; developed silk jersey wear for a number of mid to high end retailers; helped research and develop sew free gloves.
- 8 years experience in working on CR issues with both customers (Nike and Marks and Spencer to name just two) and Chinese manufacturers
- 6 years experience directing sales and development teams in europe, the US and the far east, working with major brands, major retailers and wholesales, dealing at board level with many of those customers on a variety of trade issues
- 4 years experience directing a merchandising team in China (120 people),and a newly constituted R&D department.
I speak Spanish fluently, as well as good French and German.
